Cleaning a large building can be a very serious hassle. There are many different types of buildings that need to be cleaned very regularly. You can hire an entire team of custodians, or you can hire fewer people but give them the right tools to do the job efficiently. The most common places that need these kinds of teams of custodians are churches and schools. They tend to be large buildings that see frequent use. That’s especially true if your church is open during the week for different events and day care. A school will need to be cleaned every day or at least every other day. The options are to hire a large number of custodians or to get one or two custodians and the tools they need. They’re definitely going to need vacuum cleaners and not just any kind.

Industrial Vacuums

If you want your custodians to get your school or church clean every day, they’re going to need a commercial vacuum cleaner. A commercial vacuum is made to last through hundreds of thousands of uses. They’re designed to cover large amounts of area with little difficulty. A typical domestic vacuum cleaner will not be able to pick up everything in the first attempt. That’s fine if you’re just cleaning your home; however, if you’re trying to clean a large building like a church or a school, it needs to pick up everything possible on the first pass. A commercial vacuum will do just that. They also offer you some different operating choices for different setups.

Power Choices

A domestic vacuum is going to be powered by electricity; plug it into the wall and go as far as the cord will allow. A commercial vacuum, on the other hand, could be powered by a battery or even compressed air. There are some pneumatic vacuums that are very promising. They are useful because they do not use any external power source, and they also tend to be quieter than some other kinds of vacuum cleaners.

There are also some choices for how the suction is delivered. Every vacuum has a motor of some sort. The motor turns and provides power to the fan. The fan blows in the direction of the suction, creating force that pulls against the ground. A professional vacuum often has a direct coupling between the motor and the fan. That direct coupling delivers power directly to the fan so that nothing is lost in the transmission. The direct coupling also means that there is no transmission and thus, no maintenance required. This is the most reliable way to deliver power to a fan and keep a maintenance-free vacuum. There are some other power delivery options that are just as reliable; you should buy a great vacuum from a great supplier if you don’t want to deal with maintenance.
